Register on India's official Customs EDI Gateway to file Bills of Entry, Shipping Bills, and all customs documents electronically using a Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate.
ICEGATE (Indian Customs Electronic Data Interchange Gateway) is the national customs portal of India, operated by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) under the Ministry of Finance. It serves as the single point of interface between the trade community and the Indian Customs department for all customs-related electronic transactions.
Through ICEGATE, importers and exporters can electronically file Bills of Entry (for imports), Shipping Bills (for exports), make e-payment of customs duty, track document status, and access duty drawback refund information — all digitally signed using a Class 3 DSC.
Any entity involved in cross-border trade — importers, exporters, Custom House Agents (CHA), freight forwarders, airlines, and shipping lines — must register on ICEGATE to carry out customs clearance. An Import Export Code (IEC) from DGFT is a prerequisite for ICEGATE registration.
Anyone involved in import/export activities with Indian Customs must be registered on ICEGATE.
Companies importing goods into India must file Bills of Entry through ICEGATE using a valid DSC.
Exporters file Shipping Bills digitally through ICEGATE. DSC is mandatory for e-filing.
Customs House Agents and freight forwarders must register on ICEGATE to file on behalf of clients.
